The sports giant enters the game: Gate issues NFT sneakers in collaboration with STEPN

The major cryptocurrency exchange Gate has taken a step into the world of blockchain games! Recently, the platform announced a long term partnership with STEPN, the creator of the game "Earn While You Run", releasing an exclusive collection of NFT sneakers.

The first release of the Gate x STEPN Genesis sneakers is limited to a production of 1000 pairs. The design features the signature STEPN lightning logo and recognizable Gate elements. The cost of each pair is 10,000 GMT (native STEPN token), which is approximately equivalent to 2500 US dollars.

This series of NFT sneakers will be released on the Solana blockchain and will be available for purchase on the MOOAR exchange.

"Gate x STEPN Genesis sneakers" are the first product in the long term collaboration between Gate and STEPN. In the future, the release of both physical and digital collectible items is planned.

The STEPN leadership emphasized that the main goal of the partnership is to unite the Web3 communities of both brands and provide them with the opportunity for active participation. After all, sports, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle are key values shared by Gate and STEPN.

It was also noted that the collaboration will extend to the applications of both brands and will include "products that reward people for participating in running." However, specific details have not yet been disclosed.

The sale of "Gate x STEPN Genesis Sneakers" will take place in two stages. The lottery will start on the MOOAR platform on April 17th. Gate ALTS NFT holders, STEPN OG sneakers, and Genesis Shoes will be eligible to participate. Public sales will be open from April 18th to April 21st.

Gate's Strategy Regarding Web3

Gate has been actively developing the Web3 direction for the past two years, delving into the blockchain industry and expanding its presence in the online gaming community.

In 2021, Gate launched the NFT project "Gate Originals: Into The Metaverse", which is currently in its third stage of development. NFTs from Gate have gone through bull and bear markets. In August of last year, the Gate Originals division, in collaboration with the fashion brand BAPE, released a limited edition of the Triple-White Forum 84 BAPE Low sneakers. A feature of this collection was the use of virtual and real integration methods developed by the Gate Web3 "/// Studio". The sale was conducted through an auction on the Gate Collect digital collectibles platform.

According to official data, this was the first case where Gate sold digital assets at an auction.
