According to Wu, Movement announced that it will upgrade from a sidechains architecture to a Move-based first-layer blockchain (L1), aiming to break through current performance bottlenecks and achieve processing capabilities of over 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) with sub-second latency. After the upgrade, the Move 2 language will be introduced, expanding support for enumeration types, index notation, and compound statements; the network will be responsible for consensus and validation by MOVE token validators, opening a non-lock-up position staking mechanism to enhance decentralization and network stability.
