Important Developments in the Blockchain Industry This Week

Policy Regulation

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ) will hold a roundtable on "DeFi and the American Spirit" at its headquarters in Washington on June 9. The event will be publicly livestreamed and will include panel discussions and a public Q&A session. Officials attending include the SEC Chair and several commissioners, with guests representing multiple Blockchain companies.

The EU Data Protection Board has approved a draft regulation governing how personal data is stored and shared on the Blockchain. The new guidelines restrict access to stored information and comply with GDPR protection provisions. The deadline for public consultation is June 9.

Chairman of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, French Hill, has set the date for the House's review of the cryptocurrency market structure bill for June 10.
