The on-chain analysis company Global Ledger released a report indicating that there were a total of 119 cryptocurrency attack incidents in the first half of 2025, with an involved amount reaching $3.01 billion, surpassing the total for all of 2024. The report reveals that the speed of money laundering by hackers has significantly accelerated, with nearly 70% of funds being transferred before the attack was disclosed, and in nearly 23% of cases, the money laundering was completed before the incident was made public, taking as little as 3 minutes. The report states that only 4.2% of the stolen funds could be recovered; among them, 15.1% circulated through centralized exchanges (CEX), which often have only 10-15 minutes of downtime. CEX has become the biggest target for attacks, accounting for as much as 54.26%. (Cointelegraph)
