The $4 billion family office VMS Group will start investing in Crypto Assets.

Gate News bot reported that, according to Bloomberg on Monday, the company manages $4 billion in assets and plans to invest up to $10 million in Re7 Capital strategies. However, the specific investment scale has not yet been finalized.

Elton Cheung, the managing partner of VMS Group, stated to Bloomberg: "This decision is one of the measures taken by VMS recently to achieve diversified investments and increase liquidity."

Cheung continued to state that although the company has gained substantial returns from private equity and other long-term investments, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the company to exit such investments as more and more companies choose to remain private for the long term.

The VMS Group stated that the reason behind this move is the increasing demand and the favorable regulatory environment.

Cheung said: "We believe now is the right time, as demand continues to grow, and we are seeing clearer legislation and government support emerging from various jurisdictions, along with significant institutional backing and recognition."

It is worth noting that the VMS Group has chosen to make indirect investments through Re7 Capital instead of directly investing in digital assets. Re7 Capital is a digital asset investment company that focuses on generating returns through DeFi and other crypto strategies.

According to reports, earlier this month, the Hong Kong government was using Chainlink's cross-chain interoperability protocol to explore opportunities for its central bank digital currency program.

On June 4, Hong Kong regulators allowed professional investors to trade crypto derivatives, which is part of their plan to expand product offerings to such investors.

In May of this year, the Hong Kong Legislative Council passed a bill allowing companies to issue fiat-backed stablecoins before the end of the year.
