Emblem Vault CEO suffers a $100,000 loss in encryption assets due to a Zoom phishing attack.

According to Gate.io News bot and Cointelegraph, Emblem Vault's CEO Jake Gallen was attacked by hackers, resulting in a loss of over $100,000 in Bitcoin and Ether assets.

The attacker disguised as a YouTube blogger with 90,000 subscribers, using a Zoom video interview format, exploited the platform's default remote access feature to implant malware named "GOOPDATE" on Gallen's computer.

The cybersecurity company SEAL's security researchers suggest that cryptocurrency industry practitioners should disable the Zoom remote access feature to prevent such attacks.
