Musk predicts that AI is expected to surpass the smartest humans next year

Musk predicts that by next year or 2026, artificial intelligence (AI) may be smarter than the smartest humans. Musk was interviewed by Nicolai Tangen, CEO of Norway's sovereign wealth fund, on Monday. When asked about the timeline for the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI), Musk said: "If AGI is defined as being smarter than the smartest humans, I think it will probably be next year (realized), that is, in two years." Demis Hassabis, co-founder of Google's AI company DeepMind, predicted earlier this year that AGI could be achieved by 2030.
