The U.S. prosecutor has filed a motion to prevent Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm from appearing as an expert witness.
According to Jinse Finance, Protos disclosed that U.S. prosecutors have filed a motion to prevent expert witnesses for Tornado Cash founder Roman Storm from testifying. The prosecutors claim they are "Trojan horses" that would waste the jury's time and confuse jurors' understanding of privacy, tokenomics, and KYC. This means that Roman Storm's defense team needs more time to respond to the large volume of documents attempting to eliminate eight defense arguments, and the prosecutors even opposed extending the time by two days. In addition, it has been reported that the U.S. Department of Justice has dropped the "unlicensed remittance" charges against Roman Storm and no longer refers to Tornado Cash as a "financial institution," but retains the money laundering charges. It is said that Roman Storm's trial is expected to begin on July 14 in New York, and Vitalik and the Ethereum Foundation have expressed their support for him.
