The kidnappers demanded a ransom of between 5 million and 7 million euros from the victim's son. The victim had one finger cut off during the kidnapping. The police arrested four suspects during the rescue operation.
This case is similar to the kidnapping case of the Ledger co-founder that occurred in January of this year, as both incidents involve the violent kidnapping of Crypto Assets entrepreneurs and the extortion of large ransoms.
