However, U.S. President Trump stated yesterday that it may be necessary to deal with Putin through sanctions in the financial sector or secondary sanctions measures. Rubio also mentioned that Russia and Ukraine are overall closer to reaching a peace agreement than they have been in the past three years, and a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine needs to be reached as soon as possible.
