Here I go in more technical details about the mempool== superposition debacle.
There's a 222-page paper circulating in Bitcoin called "The Architecture of Time" that claims Bitcoin disproves quantum mechanics and is therefore already safe from quantum computers.
The good.
Treating Bitcoin as a fully auditable thermodynamic process is a genuinely useful pedagogical frame. Block production is irreversible. The UTXO set is a finite enumerable state space. Difficulty adjustment really does stabilize the write-rate against varying hash power. As a 5-page essay this would be fine.
The bad.
Its headline "discovery" is k_B × T_Planck = E_Planck. That's a definition, not a result — T_Planck is defined as E_Planck / k_B.
Multiplying it back is unit conversion. The "speed of memory" b is in bits/second, which doesn't share units with c. It calls the mempool a quantum superposition and block selection a wavefunction collapse. A list of classical transactions any node can copy without disturbance is not a wavefunction. A lottery isn't either. Many candidates → one outcome is classical probability. Kolmogorov, 1933.
The ugly.
Even if the metaphor worked it would be irrelevant. Shor's algorithm attacks ECDSA on secp256k1: exposed public keys → extractable private keys. The threat is at the cryptographic primitive, not the block race. The paper explicitly tells holders that post-quantum migration is "narrative FUD" and "capitulation to authority." That is the sedative people will take until Shor-capable hardware drains a real wallet.
Quantum resistance is an engineering problem with known solutions — Dilithium, SPHINCS+, XMSS. Dressing a category error in 222 pages of metaphysics doesn't make the threat go away. It delays the migration that should already be in progress.
If you have technical literacy in this space, push back. Silence is how this becomes consensus.
