Stripe Co-founder: Transactions Between AI Agents Will Soon Grow, Company Bets on USDC and Tempo
Stripe co-founder and president John Collison stated that as AI agents become autonomous participants in the economy, the financial infrastructure will need to be rebuilt for machine-to-machine payments. He mentioned that mass M2M transactions are not happening yet, but Stripe expects a significant volume of such operations this year and is therefore developing solutions for agent-to-agent settlements, including USDC. Additionally, Stripe, together with Paradigm, has created a new blockchain called Tempo, which was designed from scratch as a more scalable network for future payments.
