The Ethereum Fusaka Hard Fork has been activated on the final Testnet, and is expected to launch on the Mainnet in December.
Golden Finance reported that Ethereum's next Hard Fork, Fusaka, was successfully activated on the Hoodi Testnet on Tuesday, marking the final step after the Holesky and Sepolia Testnets earlier this month. Fusaka is planned to undergo at least 30 days of testing before its launch on the Mainnet, with core developers tentatively setting the launch date for December 3rd. This upgrade will enhance Ethereum's scalability, efficiency, and security, including increasing the Block Gas limit, expanding the “Blob” capacity, and introducing new Node security features. The upgrade includes multiple Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), among which EIP-7594 introduces PeerDAS technology, allowing validators to sample data fragments instead of the complete Blob, thereby optimizing Layer 2 data availability. The Ethereum Foundation has also launched a four-week security audit competition with a prize pool of up to $2 million. The Fusaka Hard Fork comes about six months after Ethereum's last major upgrade, Pectra, and developers have begun planning the next upgrade, Glamsterdam.
