Moody's: Expects economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region to slow down this year.

According to Jin10 data on October 20, Moody's Analytics stated in a report that the GDP growth rate in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to slow from 4% in 2024 to 3.8% this year. It forecasts growth rates of 3.3% and 3.5% for 2026 and 2027, respectively. The report notes that the export boom in the Asia-Pacific region is rapidly fading as of early 2025, with tariffs and weak demand dragging down growth. U.S. tariffs are harming the economy in this region, production growth is also slowing, and some companies are discounting to maintain market share. The potential increase in U.S. tariffs and yen fluctuation are key risks worth following.
