Polkadot DAO has set the total supply cap of DOT to 2.1 billion through a proposal.
ChainCatcher news, the Polkadot Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) passed Proposal 1710 with an 81% approval rate, deciding to set the total supply cap of DOT Tokens at 2.1 billion. This proposal will replace the previous model of issuing a fixed annual increase of 120 million without a total cap, and stipulates a gradual reduction of the new issuance of DOT every two years to slow down the rate of increase.
