Jinse Finance reported that recently, Black Hat Asia 2023, the top event in the information security industry, came to a successful conclusion in Singapore. Encrypted financial services provider Amber Group partner and head of the Web3 security team Dr. Wu Jiazhi and researcher Luo Yuancong disclosed their first NTFS3 fuzz testing framework at the conference, analyzing the defects and root causes in the NTFS3 file system, and examining it from a new perspective Security of the NTFS3 file system within the Linux operating system. The Amber Web3 security team collaborated with Peking University to conduct joint research to investigate vulnerabilities and root causes in Linux systems. Using their self-developed Papora fuzzing monitoring framework, the team identified 12 zero-day vulnerabilities in the NTFS3 file system; 9 of these vulnerabilities have been patched in Linux v6.2, and the other 3 vulnerability patches have also been accepted by the file system maintainers . This important achievement was also recognized by the 2023 Workshop on Offensive Technologies (WOOT'23).
