Hakan Çalhanoğlu and My Lovely Planet's "Çalhanoğlu Forest" project

The famous football player, along with his wife Sinem Çalhanoğlu, partnered with the Web3 mobile game company named My Lovely Planet (MLP), and also acquired shares from the company. As part of the collaboration between the parties, a reforestation project called "Çalhanoğlu Forest" will also be launched.

As part of the campaign titled "Play for Turkey", the trees planted in the game will also have a counterpart in the real world. The project will initially be launched in the Kuşadası district of Aydın. The works will be carried out in collaboration with the Seed Education Culture and Nature Association.

"There must be a meaning to the game"

Speaking on the subject, Hakan Çalhanoğlu said, "Football has given me a lot. Now I want to give something back. I want to contribute not only to my country but to the world."

Clement Le Bras, CEO of My Lovely Planet, which was developed by the team behind globally famous games like Candy Crush, Royal Match, and Fortnite, said about the partnership, "We are not just launching a game; we are starting a movement. This partnership with Hakan Çalhanoğlu will encourage millions of people to make a difference with just a single button."

The size of 50 football fields…

In the first stage, 10,000 saplings will be planted in the Kuşadası region with the financing of Hakan Çalhanoğlu. This area will cover approximately the size of 50 football fields.

The second phase of the project will include the game in this campaign as well. Everyone playing the "My Lovely Planet" game will virtually plant their sapling together with Hakan and Sinem Çalhanoğlu. This will also translate into real-life afforestation. As the game is played, more trees will be planted in the real world.

On the other hand, only local and durable tree species will be used for the project to be long-lasting.
